FORTY-SIXTH DAILY EXPERIENCE


Losing weight, losing weight, losing weight. It’s all you ever hear. Everyone’s saying it. Some people may even be doing it, although you don’t know how long it will last. The one thing that no one talks about is why tens of millions of people are overweight or obese. After all, if they hadn’t gained all that weight in the first place no one would have any weight to lose. O.K., you’re fat. Why did you gain all that weight? That’s really the crux of the problem, isn’t it? You put enough food in your mouth to cause you to become fat. Why would you do such a foolish thing? You never wanted to be fat, so why did you make yourself fat?

Once you come to grips with why you put all that food in your mouth you will understand why you became fat and how to permanently reverse your situation so that you can permanently become thin. Sound difficult? It’s really not. Just tell yourself why you did it. You didn’t want all that food in your system because you knew it was going to make you fat and really unhappy. But you did it anyway. Why? Because you felt you needed that food in your mouth. That’s the whole problem in a nutshell. You felt a need to put lots of food in your mouth, which was more powerful than your desire not to be fat. You did it for emotional reasons. You certainly didn’t do it for logical reasons. Don’t even think about blaming the food. That’s ridiculous. The food didn’t jump into your mouth. You put it there.

To show you how simple this is, you know the real reasons you put all that food in your mouth. No, it wasn’t the taste of the food. It would have been ridiculous to trade a very temporary taste for years or a lifetime of being fat. You’re simply not foolish enough to do that. It was an emotional need to put that food in your mouth that caused you to become fat. Just look back at the times that you gained weight and think of why you gained weight. You will find, once you are truthful with yourself, that you can isolate the reasons and the emotional needs that made you put all that food in your mouth. That is the first step to permanently reversing your “fat” situation to become thin, permanently.
