FORTY-THIRD DAILY EXPERIENCE


Experts, experts, experts. They seem to everywhere. They are all telling you what to eat and how to lose weight. The funny thing is that are all saying something different. One expert is telling you to eat high fat and low carbohydrate foods, another is saying to eat high carbohydrate and low fat diets and yet another is telling you that diets don’t work. And to top it all off, the American Medical Association says, in its April 9, 2003 Journal that “Obesity must be recognized as a chronic condition for which no cure can reasonably be expected.” Don’t you just love these people? Well, there you have it. The AMA tells you there is no cure and all the “experts” are telling you there is a “cure” and they are telling you what to eat. No one agrees. What is an overweight person to do?

The simple fact is that there are no “experts” when it comes to weight control. What have the so – called “experts” done? The answer is “NOTHING”. 100,000,000 people in the U.S. are either overweight or obese and all the “experts” want to do is blame others. They blame the food industry for making food that people want to eat, fast food restaurants for serving highly caloric foods, schools for serving highly caloric foods, parents who serve the “wrong” foods to their children and, essentially everyone who weighs too much for eating too much. Isn’t that wonderful? They don’t want to take any responsibility for giving all of us bad advice. No, that would be asking too much. The “experts” are all wrong. They just won’t admit it. The fact is that they haven’t got a clue about what to do. They don’t even understand the problem.

The first question everyone should be asking is why are 100,000,000 people overweight? They didn’t want to be overweight. They just put too much food in their mouths (e.g. ate too much). That’s all that happened. They also know exactly how to weigh less – stop putting so much food in their mouths. (Yes, we know that certain popular diets say you can eat as much as you want and “lose weight.” Maybe. But the statistics show that almost all the people who go on those diets eventually gain all the “lost” weight back). Anyway, even though everyone knows exactly what to do people find themselves unable to put less food in their mouths on a permanent basis. If people could do that everyone would weigh what they want to weigh. See how simple it is – on paper.

That, in a nutshell, is the problem. The reason for the problem is that people are putting all that food in their mouths for emotional reasons. They know exactly what they are doing. They just can’t stop doing it. That’s why all diets will eventually “fail” for almost everybody. They are based on depriving people of food that people eat for emotional reasons. That’s a colossal waste of time. That’s what you are going to eliminate – putting food in your mouth for emotional reasons. Once you do that, you won’t have to listen to the so-called “experts” any more. You will be able to watch them disagree among themselves while you weigh what you want to weigh.
